in a vast kingdom
of stunning fluff fields.
rose gold gas mesas
pillars and cliffs--
spelunking through Glory's
wilderness

sailing through a rose
gold meadow of mist
the castle across
flutters.

electricity
(ominous light)

the juxtaposition of nature,
unfolding innocuously
like an origami fortune teller:

heavens' little game
of light and shadow
trickery.

in old volvos
exhausting along the pacific coast highway,

in bedrooms,
where rhapsody
and revel climbed
up the walls,

in superfluous conversations about desire,

in tiled, school hallways, old and echoy, singing to class,

in spontaneous laughter with a matching countenance of eee
(and scrunched noses),

in sauntering walks of watching light
in justbeforetwilight
hours,

in kitchens,
gathered around the isle talking promise over tea,

and wherever else we happened upon,
we flooded
and quaked—

and when we left we molasses-ed out,
our relations
with time and space

left viscous

in a stunned by sensuousness
attack of earnest glee;

these are the places
where we bloomed and became.
