Hello everyone,

As you know, we are actively looking for ways to make RFC a unique community resource to facilitate sharing and connecting, all under one roof.

We're really excited to announce a powerfully newly-installed feature which will take all this to a completely new level. RFC members can now share more about themselves via an incredible mod (i.e. forum feature add-on) called 'Zoints Local'.

Zoints Local offers everything from a personal homepage to an enhanced profile, blog, network, photo album (coming up) and anything else that can be dreamed up.

As soon as we can afford the bandwidth, we'll also be able to add a chat and a video sharing options. (Remember that all donations are welcome! :) )

How It Works
I'm still learning the ropes with Zoints Local, but here are a few of the things that you can do in order to customize your pages, just the way you like 'em.

Via the "Actions" dropdown menu, you can add, edit, and disable pages. You can also give your pages the look that you want using the 'Style Editor' option.

Zoints Local comes with a variety of blocks with all sorts of functionality. There are a series of "blocks" on most pages. Blocks are mini content areas that members can create, edit, disable, and move (via drag and drop) as they desire.

A 'MySpace' type feature integrated within RFC Forum! How cool is that!?! :D

To check it out and start working on your profile/homepage/blog etc., just click on the 'Profiles' link to the right in the navigation bar (next to 'Quick Links').

Have fun y'all! :D

Bumping this up!

I know it's not so new anymore but I thought members that recently joined us might be interested...

Have a good one!

LOL..It is new to me.. :-)

I tried to download a photo and the message said that it was not a valid file. I guess it is the wrong type. Anyone know how to change it??

Thanks,,

Hum, do you mean to upload a photo?

I'd recommend saving your pic as a jpg or jpeg. You shouldn't have any problem then. ;)

yes..upload..lol.:o

the picture is already on my computer.. It was saved from my digital camera. It is a "bitmap" image. Do you know how to switch it to the form you recommend?

Thanks..:)

Not positive - but I think if you open the pic, and then save it again - this time selecting "jpeg" or "jpg" in the drop down menu for "save file as:" or "file type" -- that should do it.

thanks for the suggestion, Beckla.. I tried that but there is no way to do it that way. I will look into it more, and figure it out..

Not sure either as how to do that other than with a photo program such as Photoshop. Sorry. :(

Just to be clear, you're trying to upload it to the Zoints (networking) page? As it seems that bitmap images are accepted if you were to attach them to a post.

In the worst case, you could always send it to me by email at sunnyrawkitchen@gmail.com and I'll reformat it for you. ;)

Hi, Carmella.. :-)

Yes..I was trying to upload it to the profile page on zoints. Thanks for the offer to reformat it, but I need to learn how to do these sort of things for myself..LOL.. Cannot let a lack of techno skills hold me back.. ;)

I am sure I will get it figured out soon enough...

:D

Do you have the Gimp? You can download it from www.gimp.org. It does all sorts of things with images, and it's free.

How did you get the picture from the camera? Mine stores all pictures in JPEG format, so I find it odd that you got it in BMP format.
