I've said this many times before, but I just can't say it enough.
ELDERBERRIES can protect you from the flu virus.
Here is how a virus works:
The scientists found that a flu virus must be able to attach itself to an umbrella-shaped receptor coating human respiratory cells before it can infect cells in the upper airways.
In some way, the elderberry weakens the hooks on the virus, keeping it from attaching to the cells. I don't know how it works, I only know it works.
My latest experience was last week. First I got the stomach flu from my granddaughter. I began taking elderberry as soon as I felt nauseous. By the next day I was fine.
Then, Friday, I had a terrible night, woke up with a sore throat, and began my day with elderberry tea. By mid-day I was very sick, but continued to drink the tea throughout the day. By Saturday, I felt tired, but the symptoms were waning. By Sunday I was fine. Today I'm fine. Other people around me have had this flu virus for WEEKS, and are still sick. It took THREE DAYS from start to finish with me, and I chalk that up to elderberries!
If you want to try it, elderberries can be purchased from San Francisco Trading Company for under $5 per pound. The catch is that they sell wholesale so you must purchase at least $30 worth of goods.
Me? I bought it all in elderberries. That's much less than I'd pay for a doctor's visit and even for cold meds. That is enough elderberries to get you and your family through several YEARS of flu seasons, including the predicted pandemic. Cheap insurance to me.
To make the tea, I use a small teapot. But you can brew them in a cup or even in the pan. Just put 1 heaping teaspoon of berries in the pot/pan/cup and cover with 1 cup of boiling water. Cover it and let it steep about 10 minutes. Then drink it. It tastes wonderful and even my 3 year old granddaugther loves it. YOu can put a bit of honey in it if you like. The honey will soothe a sore throat.
Anyway.. that's it.
Try it.
You won't go back to chemical cold meds...:D
