Here's a link to a blog alert about this bill, I'm in the process of trying to find a reference to read or some opinions outside of this blog.

This is what I've found so far:

I haven't read through it all but so far it does sound like they're making it illegal to plant your own garden.
Here's an online petition. If this bears true you may want to petition your senators and congress members also.

I still wish I knew which organization created a petition in support of organic gardening which 100,000 people signed!

I did a search on both hr875 and "hr 875" but came up with zero hits.
Thanks for the 2 threads.
I've also found an online article where the author claims it will not affect the home gardeners. Either this article or another stated that they are meeting with organic produce producers to ensure language that would prevent the bill from being used against them.
From the wording of the bill I can't see anything that would PREVENT over zealous prosecutors from attacking small businesses and roadside stands though. AS OF YET. I'm still wading through the wording of the bill.

PS. I've been checking in, just not saying much very often. I'm still struggling against cooked foods and am rather ashamed of myself. I'm finding it hard to give up black eyed peas, rice, and pastries. If it weren't for the pastries I wouldn't feel as bad, but when the family makes whole wheat donuts with honey icing I cave. :(
I need a retreat I can afford to spend 6 months or better at so I can get sufficiently detoxed and resistant to the whole gammut of garbage out there.
I am over 75% raw but that 25% isn't alwasy very healthy and I want 100% healthy raw

I also struggle. At Easter my 14 year old was in hospital and I treated him to cannolis. Also his best friend who is Italian had never had one so I thought he should have it at least once! Of course I had to enjoy one as well. However, there is a raw recipe on here for them so eventually I will learn.
Also sprouting lentils and garbanzos is not always do-able for me so I do cheat and cook them to try to assuage my hunger before I have an non-raw binge!

Welcome back, Flanny. :) I think 75% is great, keep it up! :)
I think struggling, fighting against that 25% can actually be more harmful, than the ingredients of that food.
Man, only if all the people would eat as healthy as you... ;)

I usually use rice to curb the manic feelings of needing something. However I know it's not the greatest. It's certainly better than meats (fish and fowl included) but then I go off on the pastry binge. The only thing possibly non-vegan I've used is the honey, which some vegans claim don't count. I'm slowly getting up the materials for the kraut as I think the healthy raw fermented foods might help a lot.
back on topic, I'm still deciphiring HR 875 and I don't see measures that would really protect farm markets and road side stands the way some people claim. Anyone know of anything I'm missing?

Thanks for the encouragement. trouble is the bad stuff I DO eat :(
On the bright side I am getting more physically active with "body weight trainging" where I use mostly my body weight for therapy and workouts. I'm also starting water arobics as I seem to be able to use my shoulder and knee full force in the water without the pain from the accident. The one doctor wants to do old fashioned exploratory surgery before fixing the knee (I said "no, I'll live with the pain"), and the shoulder is pretty much the best it's going to be with the help of standard medicine. They removed all the bone fragments and smoothed out the rough parts. Now I want to try to heal further with the use of natural methods
