Apples are such commonly-consumed fruits that we tend to overlook their unique and amazing health benefits. Even raw food enthousiasts can greatly benefit from apples. This member of the rose family (ever noticed how rose hips resemble mini apples?) combines certain nutrients in a way that sets it apart from all other fruits and makes it a food of choice for achieving several health goals. Let's examine what apples can contribute to our living foods lifestyle.

And if you do read on, there is an absolutely AWESOME apple pie recipe there! :D

very nice :) Though I wouldn't peel the apple for the pie recipe, lots of nutrition hiding in the peel!

When I had organic apples, I didn't peel them when doing recipes with them. But then again, I like "bite" in my food. But since I use non-organic apples now (my supply ran out!), I have to peel them, sadly!

I am trying to remedy the whole supply issue by planting my own orchard, but the deers are giving me a hard time (they ate all the apples last year and killed several trees)... Maybe I'll be luckier this year!
