I have been slightly upset today. First I get a magazine in the mail from the UofM cancer center where Cooper was treated. There was an article about nutritional supplements. The pic of the 2 dieticians who wrote the article was awful. They were both all puffy and huge! They were saying not to take glyconutrients because they were a huge scam. That is what Cooper took all throughout treatment and he never got sick like the other kids did. So that upset me. The dieticians told us to feed him NesQuick and heavy cream and donuts to keep weight on him. We obviously didn't listen, but lots of parents do.

Then, I posted the link about the chicken nuggets on a local mom's forum that i am on. I know alot of them feed their kids mcd's so I thought they might be interested to know. they all got attitude's and acted like I am wacko because I don't let my kids have nuggets! And my kids going to have an unhealthy attitude towards food because of me! Whatever!

I get discouraged by this, but I am not going to let it get me down! Some people get it and other just never will! I am so glad i have this place to come where I have things in common with other people.

It's sad. I know that kind of forum hostility, trust me. I after all was banned from a Diabetes Yahoo Group for bringing up the topic that Type 2 Diabetes was reversible!! Can you believe?? They thought I was a wacko and "mean" for like saying that. UNBELIEVABLE!

"The dieticians told us to feed him NesQuick and heavy cream and donuts to keep weight on him."

... speechless.....

They had a fully stocked fridge with pop in it for all the cancer kids.

I've seen cancer fundraisers that celebs go to in magazines.... The "treats" table always shocks me. Horrendous. 2 Words: Job Security.

Your child is SO lucky to have you!!!!

Thanks! I think he knows that, but it's hard sometimes. I wish I could have helped him without the horrible treatment he had to endure, but he actually did pretty well during and is super healthy now.

Frustrating beyond belief!! It's so hard to understand how some people just don't get it, I mean to me it's so in your face obvious.

I am always intrigued when a large number of people disagree with another radical idea. Especially when the radical idea comes from someone with a lot of knowledge who is armed with information to defend their position, while the others just go by general opinion. It's just inevitable.

One of my favorite quotes from George Carlin is "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

Hahaha, thanks for the quote RV4H, I needed that!! Too true!!

After reading what they feed/encourage feeding, to children who are so sick, it made me want to cry, :( :( :( :( the only thing stopping me is it also makes me     .
This kind of thing is what keeps me going when ppl question my drive to learn, and be informed!!! I like watching documentaries, but Brent wonders why I like to watch "depressing" stuff - I don't find it depressing, I find it informative, which to me = EMPOWERING!!!!!!

Your son is not just lucky to have you Suzi, he is blessed!!
