Hi FirstGarden/everyone
FirstGarden: I've long been a reader and admirer of your wonderful, detailed posts!:)
I have been looking around and I did a search and there doesn't appear to be a cleansing thread started yet. I was wondering if- you got some free time and were so inclined- you could share some of the wealth of knowledge that you have on various cleansing programs with all of us!
I'm particularly interested in any comparisons of at home cleansing products you or anyone else might have.
I also thought it would be fun to have a thread for everone to share their cleansing adventures!
If I've simply missed it and another thread about cleansing has already been started, could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks everyone!
Abby

Hi Anabbytree - Thanks for the comps. I have already begun some writing and compilation for the new "Gross Thread," formerly entitled, "The Most Gross, Disgusting, Horrible Thread Ever!" That one was mainly about colon cleansing, altho it had some info about human parasites as well. That thread got some controversy, though it was full of warnings and disclaimers long before you'd get to any shocking photos.
Then there was Solace's Hydrotherapy Thread (colonic irrigation) which was a great thread. Then SchoolOfRawk's Candida Threads which were so informative and helpful. Plus we had some liver/GB cleanse threads going, a Top Ten colon cleanse ratings, a huge Oil Pulling thread, a "Total Cleanout" thread which aspired toward defining and attaining complete and total detox. All these and many more got indiscriminately wiped out. So, we will be attempting to recapture some of this. The colon cleanse comparison ratings will be incorporated in the new gross thread.
I especially enjoy it when one person heads up an area of research and others come over to support that thread, and like you said, share their own experiences on it. That way, it becomes more of a "WE" thing rather than a "ME" thing; a community expression instead of each person making their own parasite, candida or colon thread, etc, etc. Or in other words, having a dozen liver/GB cleanse threads, several dozen candida threads and so forth. Not that I suggest rigidity in a forum, but it is more fun to do things together and share our experiences in a collective way in dedicated, more inclusive threads. It also makes tracking a given subject a lot easier.
Anabbytree, you must have had a different user name before. If it seems a good thing, maybe we should encourage folks in the intro thread to indicate that.
Others have expressed enthusiasm for the cleanse threads, so this is exciting. It's kinda like, "Hey we used to have a library at the corner and now it's gone." So I'm all for reestablishing a reference center for our community on these things. :p
Thank you for your interest! :)

FirstGarden-
I'm glad to hear you're working on a "gross thread"! I like it quite a lot!
I hope in my first message I didn't sound as though I was talking about anything other than a collaborative effort, if I did, I didn't mean it to sound like that... as I think the idea of the library is just lovely. I was simply trying to find a location for a book I'd like the library to carry (If that's not taking the analogy too far, lol).
I look forward to being a part of the section on cleansing, and many more.
I didn't have a different screen name before, I am relatively new (this summer) as a signed-up member of this or any other forums, but I had been reading and looking around various raw food forums for months before that. It just took me a little while to start posting.

Oh, I didn't take it like that at all. I just get a little excited about all this. I look forward to your participation in the cleanses, once we get up & running, and in our quest for radical health! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/huepfen/jumping-smiley-015.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/huepfen/jumping-smiley-014.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/huepfen/jumping-smiley-010.gif

Oooooooh the beginning of a cleansing thread :D
I'm a big fan of cleansing!!! oh yes.
I have been on an interesting journey with my own body, taking some time to not eat raw to release some old food issues I had goin' on. But, i'm feeling ready to get my raw groove back on and was meditating on what a gentle summer cleanse would be to support me in feeling good and light.
So here's what my intuition is thinking..... a watermelon cleanse!!
It would look like
-watermelon through the morning, including juice of flesh and rind
-salad and green juice in the afternoon and evening
not a diet. if i want other food i can have it. Just a guideline to guide me into feeling JUICY. Maybe I will start a separate thread called "feeling juicy" because that's really how I want to feel.
this is kind of a tangent. i've done more formal cleanses and i think they're great. right now, i'm not in the mood for fasting or anything hardcore. I just want to be gentle and sweet with myself. I'm a huge advocate for parasite cleansing fyi. I really enjoyed my first one.
I might even try *colonics* (gasp!) for the first time during my watermelon cleanse. I always felt like they wouldn't be useful if I was eating "normally." I dunno, i want to try it! maybe i'll have something super duper gross to add to the gross thread. (ooooooh i hope i do!!! )

Sunshine - Why don't you head up an area of research, like melon cleansing and things like that. Then create a thread all about it. MissLinda did a thread like that at RFT but it didn't last very long. Oh, it doesn't have to be just about melon. Maybe a thread that specializes on certain foods for cleansing. Sounds like you're really going for the high-water-content stuff. That is the heart of all successful raw, vegan and natural hygiene diets. Maybe call it the food cleansing thread, whatever.. just something that lets others know that they can come there for support - ya know, a dedicated kind of thread on one main subject. Well, that's what we were doing over at RFT. Solace had the Hydrotherapy thread (colonics), SOR had the Candida thread, I had the Colon/parasite cleanse ("Gross") thread, and so forth. Maybe someone else can head up a dedicated parasite thread. And someone else heavy metals. LightLover already has a dedicated Supplements thread going.
I LOVE THIS DEEP COOPERATION THING! http://www.sheknows.com/graphics/emoticons/snoopy.gif

I like how everyone just tries to get FG to write more, no matter what the topic, LOL! Such a sage. I'm starting a new thread, too, in just a few minutes. :-)
