i made it as well and agree - it's AMAZING!

i am not familiar with agar flakes so i took the suggestion of another blogger and used 1/2 coconut oil instead. it worked perfectly, but i think i may use a bit less coconut oil next time (just because i'm thrifty and like to use my ingredients sparingly =).

Kelli: this pie is trully delicious. Everyone *had 8 non raw friends for dinner and served this pie -- everyone loved it and they did not even think of it as not 'baked' ..

The other option is to use ground chia seeds with a bit of water. They serve as a versatile thickener and gelling agent for many recipes, including Jennifer Cornbleet's delicious pecan pie. The best parts about those seeds are that they are raw, practically tasteless and extremely simple to prepare compared to seaweed gels such as agar-agar and Irish moss.

Try using ground chia seeds mixed with just enough water the next time when you need a quick thickener for your recipe.
