I've got another applesauce recipe to add to the mix. It's similar, but has a few differences.

from http://www.hishealingways.com/apples...pplesauce.html Check it out - they've got step-by-step pictures.

Ingredients:

4 cups apples
1 cup water
1 cup raisins
1/4 of a lemon with the peel
1 tsp cinnamon

Procedure:

1. Blend the apples with the water.

2. Add the raisins, lemon (yes, with the peel), and cinnamon, and blend until smooth. Hooray for my VitaMix!

My notes:

Gala apples seem to work the best for me so far. I leave the cores intact, seeds and all. It blends a lot easier if I dice it all a bit first.

I also like to add a pinch of celtic sea salt and a few whole raisins... just a personal preference.

I just tried adding some apple cider vinegar. I think I like it in there.
