Ahh, wishful thinking, my friend. As long as their are humans governing human affairs, there will be politics - also known as poly (many) - tics (parasites).
Fractional reserve banking, also known as fractional scaling is indeed perverse and absurd. Many think the Fed is federal. It was deliberately made to sound that way. But it is entirely owned and controlled. An early U.S. president, seeing the inherent evils of the Fed, resisted this imposed abheration in earnest, only to have his efforts rebuffed a little later in history.

What I'm about to research is - WHO were the congressmen/women who voted in so much deregulation?? Their campaign coffers were flush with cash from the wall street big boys, as it turns out.

Ok I just watched the video. I do believe Andrew Jackson was the president I read about who resisted the entrenchment of the Fed in America's financial establishment. It was here to stay as of 1913. Interestingly, the US federal income tax began in 1914.
To call this a house of cards is an understatement. What's to keep the entire, over-leveraged, global financial system from coming down like a gigantic avalanche?
