This was too good not to share! I even had to register to do so! I tried this recipe and loved it right away, but had a craving for something a little bit spicy and exotic... so to this recipe I added
A couple of teaspoons of fresh ginger
two lime leaves
half of a serrano chili
an extra clove of garlic
a couple of teaspooons of lemongrass
substituted lime juice for the lemon juice called for
a teaspoon of ground corriander
and a handful of cilantro
( buzz all of this fine in food processor before adding the rest of ingredients to be chopped )
I also julienned a couple of carrots into the bowl with the zuchinni. Oh... and I use a cup of fresh mushrooms as I don't have any dried right now and I think they turn out great.
Serve your Thai style " crab cakes" with fresh mango salsa .( this is actually the reason I thought of this recipe in the first place as the mangos are " in season" here!)
In a bowl place one mango very finely diced, 1/4 cup red onion very finely diced, 1 clove garlic crushed, a couple of tablespoons of cilantro chopped fine, and the juice of a lime.

I was just browsing and saw these and have to highly recommend them! I found this recipe earlier in the fall on Carmella's Sunny Raw Kitchen and had to try them. Wow were they wonderful. I have pictures that I need to download and then I'll post them. I followed the crab cake recipe to the T. I found dried porcini mushrooms in the City Market Co-op in Burlington, VT. I varied the tartar sauce up a bit: no horseradish, capers or celery. It was very good as well. These are super filling and a nice decadent treat. A wonderful recipe!
Now that I am a married lady I have to prepare luscious looking meal so me darling husband was 'eyeing' the Crab Cake - we made it and it was a blast!!! He exclaimed something which will have to be censored on some boards!!
I used cashews instead of macadamias and totally left out the psyllium for I could not find it and my sweetie pie loved it! It was a lovely dinner!! However sad to say, our tartare sauce did not turn out that great. We did not have a few things like dill which we subbed for rosemary dried herb and no horseradish which we sub with mustard seed powder... bad idea huh? whatever it is, the sauce was NOT a hit, while the Crab Cake was mmmmmm..... glad I made this finally and share it with someone I love dearly!!
hello! i've been lurking around the forum for quite some time, but have been too lazy to log in and post.
i'd love to make the crab cakes for new year's eve, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to get ground psyllium seed in time. i'm headed to my local Whole Foods today, and i'm hoping they have it. if not, is there something i can use in its place? maybe soy lecithin?
