Smoothie Feast

Today I started a smoothie feast...I'm taking it one day at a time and go with my feelings as to how long it will be.

I've gained a few pounds that need to be shed/released/lost and I thought this would be a good way to detox some of the not so healthy things I've eaten and get back on the path that feels comfortable.

Anyone want to join me????

Elaine

Thanks Joz, I know every time someone is doing one I'm like you and have a zillion events lined up...this must of been in the universe though because when I started yesterday I didn't look ahead to see my schedule but only after the fact did I realize' gee, this may work as I'm in a time frame where I'm not gonna be in places I can't handle'.

Thanks for the hugs...I'm going to watch my granddaughter this morning and plan on taking a real yummy one and maybe she'll ask for a taste and love it. She's 3.

This is day 3. Last night I could tell I was detoxing as I had that awful taste in my mouth.

I see how many times I want food just because and not because I'm hungry so this is great way to change my eating habits.

Today is my long day at work and I've made 3 quarts of green smoothie to make sure I don't run out but for a 12 hour day I don't think I over estimated. It's all about planning.

Tomorrow night I do have an event I need to plan for and I may choose to eat a salad...I'll be at a Ricky Nelson tribute put on by his sons where my friend is the opening act. There is a table charge and by eating there instead of some place else it will defray the cost of sitting at a table vs. standing. So, I have till tomorrow night to think about it and gee, as I'm typing that I have to remind myself 'oh yeah, I'm doing today today'.

I'm gonna post every day as to how I'm feeling.

Elaine

Why don't you see if you can get a fruit platter there? It is much more inline with your smoothie fast. On many smoothie fasts they say you can eat fruit.

I just did a smoothies fast for three days with my boyfriend. It was his idea! I had been eating very well before the fast. We ate fruit and green smoothies, he called them goop. He was very tired of them. He was worried about protein! The other day he had a tough karate training instead of coming home to his usual "protein shake" he was seriously craving a green smoothie!!! The next time as well. he made a great one with four bannanas, bok choy or tat soi-the little one, those fat sprouts they sell, chard and frozen grapes, best one ever! recommended!

Funny thing is the fast made me crave cooked food and I ended up pigging out on it and feeling like hell. weird. normally a fast has a opposite effect for me.

I've completed 5 days of green smoothies other then the tiny blip Thursday night...the club had two kinds of sandwiches and I had one and I had to make sure it was guilt free as I'm now letting go of some of the rigidness that I used to use to measure perfectionism.

I'm feeling really good and my skin looks great and what's interesting is how I'm just not as hungry as when I had a lot of choices which tells me some of the eating was about just wanting to eat.

Yeah, a lot of people worry about protein yet with all I've read I know I'm gonna be just fine. I know I have to explain it to friends when they worry I'm gonna get sick eating like this. I say, 'oh, I'm eating like a chimpanzee!'

I am taking it one day at a time, yes, I would like to have the power to plan the outcome but I'm relinquishing that to going with the flow of what my body wants.

The first couple days I was really pee'n a lot...that seems to have stabilized.

I'm going down to Encinitas to my daughter's plant nursery to work today and I'm taking my green smoothies with me.

I completed 7 days of green smoothies with only a couple of blips which were no biggie and I'm not gonna stress over them.

Today is day 8 and again it's one day at a time.

I'm feeling really good and am down 4 pounds.

Yes, it's about the detox, breaking the eating 'whenever' habit AND shed some pounds...what order...hmmmm, hahaha!! the pounds sure are a motivator.

I'll keep posting as I go.
