Wonderful Info!

I have never heard of oil pulling. What a magnificent notion! I can't believe it really works. I have had bleeding gums for some time now. Jsut when I brush and floss of course. But it really bothers me. You know, gums don't grow back. I am trying this tomorrow!

I use a big wooden natural bristle brush I got from The Body Shop. I've been using it for years. It's perfect.

Tell us how it goes. I'm oil pulling as I type this. I think I've been doing it for about an hour. I just sort of do it until I'm really hungry for breakfast or am tired of it.

And don't be alarmed if you have a tough time doing it at first! It does take some getting used to, but then it is no big deal.

you want to make sure its gentle, so i hear a baby brush is also good if you can use it on a baby's scalp, this will for sure not damage your delicate facial skin.

as for oil pulling -- this is the second round I've done, and seriously I forgot how amazing this was. my skin is healing so quickly, and the dryness is going away. my skin seriously hates winter. i've also been using coconut oil on my face with a little olive oil and its been very nourishing.

one thing i did notice with oil pulling (if you're just starting) is a mild detox effect. the weird part is i didnt feel 'sick,' -- i felt this odd, almost 'build up' like feeling just under my skull, and on the top of my neck. for two days i felt this and now its going away and im feeling lighter, and full of energy. whatever it was, oil pulling was surely dislodging it from my body, and i was blowing my nose, and tears were coming out of my eyes for two whole days (but i had no cold).

stick with this method, these guys are on to something haha.

cheers

What a lovely thread Eva, thank you for putting effort into posting all your tips

I had a little break-out when I went from cooked vegan to raw, but the past weeks I have had the best skin in the world! Oeh and I agree, oil pulling is fantastic.

Hello fellow traveler! Welcome to the board, and it was no problem at all. So glad to have acne behind me... too bad there isn't a real miracle cream. But these tips do seem to work (thank goodness!).
