ViolinCyndee,

Thanks for posting your version of the sweet and sour sauce.

I've never tried Snowdrops, I'm sorry to say, but have filed it away for future use and will also file yours.

Yours sounds to have more of the sweet via apricots and the sour via the ACV.

In the old days, I figured out how to make it cooked style --I used frozen pineapple juice, maple syrup and corn starch.

I've wondered if fresh pineapple, sweetener, and a thickener would work as well.

One day.....sigh.

Thanks again for posting.

Mary Kay

I used to make a quick cooked version, which I would cook with the veggie 'chicken' nuggets, peppers and onions. It was: apricot preserves, Catalina salad dressing and dry onion soup mix!! WOW.. so unhealthy, right?

So.. I started to think of what would be similiar to those flavors above, and decided that dry apricots, onion powder, gingerroot and ACV should be the main flavors. It worked out great!

I have the unchicken pieces ready to put into the dehydrator with peppers, onions, snow peas and a little bit of baby corn for my raw potluck tomorrow! (yes, the produce dept did have some fresh baby corn--not canned).

I would have never thought to use dried apricots. Good going!

Thanks again,

I got home not too long ago and checked in: WOW! that looks like 'chinese' take out ! Can't wait to try it. Those sesame nuggets would be good on a cesar type of salad. I will have to make some for my men.

All I can say is WOW!!! Soo good! The "chicken" even looks like boneless fried chicken when it's done dehydrating! My family now thinks that we(raw vegans) are food magicians
Thanks Snow!
