Things you never knew your cell phone could do

FIRST
The emergency number worldwide for mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobil network and there is an emergency. Dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you. This number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it!

SECOND
Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have a remote keyless entry? This may come in handy one day. Good reason (for me) to own a cell phone. If you lock your keys in the car and the spare is at home, call anyone at home on their cell phone. Hold your phone about a foot from your car door and have that person (at home) press the unlock button into their phone. Your car will unlock. (I do this at least once a week, you think I would learn??)

THIRD
Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate press *3370# . Your cell will restart with this reserve and it will show a 50% increase in the battery. This reserve will charge when you plug your phone in the next time. (I am good at forgetting to charge too)

FOURTH
How to disable a lost or stolen phone
To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#A15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your phone. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When you loose your phone you can call your service provider and give them the code. Your phone will be totally useless, even if someone changes the sim card. (Yep I loose mine often too)

FIFTH
When looking for a phone number while on the road (or home) and you call 411, they charge you 1-2 dollars per call. Dial 1.800.free.411 or 1.800.373.3411 without incuring any charges. I have this programmed into my phone.

Yeah, well right now mine is doing something it's NOT SUPPOSED to, something "I had no idea it could do" either, and so now I have to spend my lunch at Cingular, and only HOPE it's under an hour. I'd rather go to the DMV. Grumble...

Oh yeah, thanks for the informative post.
