Hemp Pesto

I bought big bunches of basil from the farmers market the other day , so it was time for a batch of pesto today!
Mostly for the pizza's this weekend at my dinner party yummm

2 1/4 cups walnuts
3 cups basil
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup hemp seed oil
4 medium cloves garlic
3/4 tsp sea salt

This made a good amount - you could definately half it.

I was gonna make pesto today so this is perfect!!!

Don't have any hemp oil but I have hemp hearts so I think I'll try replacing some of the walnuts with them and see how it turns out.

Wink My Dinner Tonight

So, I live alone and have no one to share my lovely raw food dinners with, I am so glad I joined this community for the great recipes as well as the support!
This is tonight's dinner:

The Preparation:
i made the above pesto, using 1/2 cup hemp seed (i don't have hemp oil) and 1 cup soaked walnuts to ~ 2cups of fresh basil from my herb garden (2 cloves garlic n 1/3 cup olive oil) I had to add some water to get it all to blend well.

I mixed it w 1 zucchini sliced up pasta-like in my spiralo slicer, this is a bit too much zucchini for me by itself however, so I chopped up 1 leaf of kale (to break up the texture) and put the rest of the tomato I had in the house as well as 1/4 of a sweet onion finely chopped. Garnished w a sprinkling of pumpkin seed. More tomato would be better, but alas, i am out.

I then also ate it w/a bit of not-quite-finished onion bread on top... mmmm, gooey!

I really like it, but the last time i experimented w my spiralo I made a lovely pesto dinner n then went to heated yoga class for ~90 minutes. Not a good idea as i was nauseous by the end, so this is a bit delicate for me to eat

Oh yummers!!!

Looks like we were on the same wave lengths as Heathy and I also had pesto (a different recipe though) pasta for dinner last night. For appetizers was Cream of Zucchini soup, onion bread (fully dehydrated! lol) with Garlic & Dill Cheeze. Mmmmmmmm... It was quite the feast!
