Greetings All,

I've been RAW since mid-August. I started off with juicing for 9 days and attempting to eat RAW afterwards. Then I did another juice fast/flush for 8 days and did another RAW attempt. A week or so later I did one more juice fast/flush for 3 days and transitioned into 100% RAW. I'm doing pretty well... not 100% but I am close.

I'm a homeschooling mama. I have three great kids - 21, 14 and 9. My eldest is getting married next month. I was vegan for about 5 years before I met my hubby (just celebrated our 9th anniversary) so I'm very happy to go back now!

I publish an online magazine, Timeless Spirit. http://www.timelessspirit.com - just started our 5th year. David Suzuki is one of our writers and trust me, we have many others as well.

I'm pretty eclectic in my beliefs but Buddhism is definitely a strong path for me. I believe everyone's path is uniquely theirs and I honour this in everyone I meet. IRL and online.

I think that's it. I look forward to meeting you all and learning some easy to prepare RAW recipes as I love my GS (green smoothies) but am looking forward to a more varied diet than just salads, GS and juice.

Oh and since becoming RAW... I've released 40 lbs of unneeded weight and am ready, willing and able to release more!

Hi Aleesha!

I thought I'd give you a proper welcome.

So awesome that you've found your way to our community. Such a bunch of warm and supportive folks! Looks like you'll fit right in!

And congrats on the weight loss. Raw truly RAWks! (As I'm sure you've already noticed! )

Oh, and your magazine looks fabulous! Did you notice we have an alternative birthing/ parenting section here? I would definitely recommend you add a link to your birthing issue to the resources.

Anyhoo, so good to have you along for the ride!

Welcome Aleesha! I've lost 30 kg myself, not that I was trying to, and might lose a little more.

Don't worry about how raw you are - don't beat yourself up if you slip. I've been eating some cooked food; I need the energy to prepare for the winter, and nuts are expensive. So I'm right now cooling some potatoes so that I can add a lot of tomatoes and other raw stuff without cooking the raw stuff. I think it's time to get some Chinese broccoli too (it's too heavy a food for summer, but I like it in the winter).

thanks pierre! i don't like to slip, but honestly i think taking this slow and steady is better than full-on and full-off :P

but all in all... i think i'm doing pretty well.
