Post Mock Salmon Pate

Mock Salmon Pate
from Alissa Cohen's Book, Living on Live Foods

2 cups raw walnuts
2 stalks celery
1 large red sweet pepper
1 large scallion
1/2 - 1 teaspoon sea salt

Combine all ingredients in a food precessor and blend until smooth.

Serving suggestions: This can be served on a plate as is, over a salad, rolled up in a green leaf, or spread on crackers.

****Note****
This is pretty, a nice pink "salmon" color. I used this as a filling with green boston lettuce. It tasted great! My husband even likes it. I used two green onions, and it was a bit too onion-y, not terrible, just a bit much.. This reminds me of roasted red pepper hummus. Going to try some garlic in it next time. --- RVM

Delish is right! I've made this a bunch of times and it's reminded me that I need to make it again! I end up putting it on romaine hearts and then topping it with alfalfa sprouts.

Oh ya! This is one of my favorites! Very easy to make and awesomely delicious!!!

moonstone, since I have been making this, I have always used red bell pepper, aka capsicum. Aroy mak mak.... ching ching!!

Oh here is a visual of my Mock Salmon Pate - however it is covered with plenty of other raw delights

What we are looking at is Mock Salmon Pate on large green leaves and layered with sprouts, button mushrooms, soaked wakame and finish off with a sprinkling of cayenne and flax seeds..... super yummy!!

Hey 4Freedom, you might want to check out this thread regarding Braggs. I used to use it all the time but that article has made me switch to organic wheat-free tamari instead.

OMG!!!
This is crazy!
Thanks for sharing.
I shared it with my husband and he's furious about this also.
Can't trust anyone these days.
No more liquid aminos here.
We thought we were doing better by not eating sea salt...oh well.

Oh thanks for the tip, Snow, as I wasn't overly impressed either. Will have to try processing it more...

I didn't like this pate either - the texture was alright but i found it tasteless. Definately won't make it again, didn't taste at all like salmon, which is a bummer because it looked so awesome!
