Okay, here is my report!
I was so excited and I wanted to look extra special for my hubby, so I put on makeup (not my usual thing) and dug out my sexy little black tank top and proceeded to wait quite impatiently for my hubby to get home from work.
In the meantime, I killed some time by taking a picture of myself out on our back porch. I carefully packed up the camera with the extra battery and when my husband came home, I flew out the door and away we went!
Got to the restaurant and wanted to take a picture of the menu... and that is when it happened. The horror of it all.... I had a detestable case of the dreaded "dead camera battery" syndrome!
No problem, however! I have my trusty back up battery. At least I thought. Put the new battery in and yup... you guessed it.... dead as a doornail!!
I was a trifle bit disappointed cuz I wanted to take pretty raw food pictures just like everyone else does, but now I can't
Needless to say, the only picture I have to share with you all is the silly one of me on our back porch, and doggone it! I will post it although I had planned on posting pretty raw food pictures instead of a senseless picture of myself.
Onto the menu...
Seaweed salad.... Okay, this was awesome! The four seaweeds blended together so well and no slimy textures! The Cilantro based Asian dressing was light and flavorful... very, very good.
Gado-Gado soup....This was the best raw soup I have ever tasted. Warm, rich, spicy, creamy and just darn good. Made with a base of almond butter with cayenne and topped with scallions.
Nori Rolls with Wasabe and Pickled Ginger and Tamari dipping sauce: I am not a big fan of Nori rolls, but these were actually quite good! Lots of different pates and sprouts and the pickled ginger was a pleasant surprise. The wasabe was just too hot and spicy for me though!
Chocolate Coconut cheesecake with edible impatiens-- Divine~! Very rich and coconutty with a great texture... almost like real cheesecake. Garnished with an impatiens blossom which the server told us was edible, so I ate it quite heartily! My hubby looked at me like this:

and proceeded to tell me that the server said the flower was inedible and not to eat it. I shot him this look:
and proceeded to pick the flower off of his cheesecake and eat it. He was not amused and then called the server over to ask if the flowers were edible or not. I then had the pleasure of saying "I told you so!"
My hubby loved the food! He was unsure if the raw food was going to fill him up so he joked about stopping off at Pizza Hut after dinner. Well, he changed his mind and he was surprised at how full and satisfied he was! He enjoyed the food as much as, if not more than, me.
Anyway, that was my Valentines Day! I am so blessed to have a great hubby who will take me to a raw restaurant, eat seaweed salad and watch me devour pink flowers without one word of complaint! I love my husband so much.
