Creamy Spicy Broccoli & Greens Soup

Hi Fellow Rawbies, It's been a while since I posted a recipe, but it is 20 below zero here right now so we wanted something warm & spicy.

Creamy Spicy Broccoli & Greens Soup By Raw Jewelrylady

OK, I'm not good with measuring but these are approx.

2-3 cups broccoli
2-3 TBSP Amond Butter
squirt of honey/agave
curry powder, maybe a tbsp or 2
cayenne, about 1/2 tbsp
1/2 large Jalapena pepper~seeds & all much needed for the warmth factor
cumin~1 -2 tbsp
sea salt to taste
1/2 lemon juiced
1 avocado
slice of onion, about 2 -3 tbsp
large handful of romaine, could use kale or even spinach
filtered water

Blend in Vita-mix ( maybe could do in a Food Processor if you don't have a Vita-mix) Heat on stove until 100 degrees stirring constantly. Place in warmed bowls & you won't believe how warm you will feel.

Warning, this is spicy !
Enjoy!

Cathy, You are so welcome. This is really good & I am putting in Jalapena in just about everything these days to help stay warm.

Leah~I just saw this, sorry did not answer right away.

I like a lot of things spicy~esp in the winter. This would be a 7 maybe 8. Depends on how much jalapena you put in & if you de-seed or not. I need the heat right now with 20 below temps. so I put a lot in~seeds as well.

Hope you like it!

I made this for dinner with a few minor mods: ground sesame seeds instead of almond butter, 1 celery stalk, 2 cups spinach and less spices. Oh, and topped with a light cashew sauce. Yummo!!!

We're stoked to have found a great way to eat more raw broccoli. Thanks for posting this, Lana.

Carmella, That looks/sounds just divine. I'll try it your style next time but with the heat added for winter.

Thanks for trying it & reporting back with some new ideas!
