Newbie here, my intro is an old one thats copy, pasted
My name is Jessica and I'm 26. Still live with my parents and fraternal twin sister, Metro New York, on the New Jersey Side of it USA. Born with a Neurologically based speech impairment/apraxia-dysarthria. Been suffering from depression/anxiety since 9/2001. Currently, I’m an clerical volunteer in the Maternity Department at the local hospital by me and still looking for the permanent part time clerical job. Worked at one of the local Lord and Taylor as an temp by me for the pass 2 holiday seasons.
Feel I’m not a good fit because I’m in the middle of the road, but mostly alternative. They treat me like an baby and even where I volunteer as well. I mean when its busy and stressful for them, but other times its not. Of course I don’t judge them because I feel that its hard to become alternative lifestyle and opposite for alternative people. All the other boards that I been to don’t care if you mainstream or alternative or middle of the road. Feel I’m too crunchy with my views, which I’m just trying get to learn, and do research. Or left before I was given the boot.
Hi! You have an interesting way with words. . . . . . crunchy viewpoint. Making me hungry ha ha.
Dang! I knew that jobs were hard to get in the metro area but puhleez! I know that if you have anything different you have to prove yourself triply much. I knew a woman who was a great nurse but she was born cross-eyed so it wasn't until she made enough money to pay for the eye surgery herself (she came from a huge family with too many kids) was she able to progress in her career and not be doubted so much.
I'll be moving to Northern NJ this summer. I've checked out a raw chef from the Montclair area that I would like to take uncooking lessons from. Do you live near there?
I noticed you said you were suffering from depression since Sept 2001. Does your depression have anything to do with the World Trade Center tragedy? I was greatly affected at the time since I'm a native NY'er, but have since formulated my opinion about that day, and no longer live with the fear of terrorism. I still drive through those tunnels (Holland & Lincoln) and think about a leak springing in one of them, which has always been a phobia of mine.
