Hello to everyone here at Raw Freedom Community.

This is one absolutely gorgeous ebook, folks!!! Wowsers! I love everything about it: the easy-to-read font, the large and scrumptious looking pictures, the easy-to-follow instructions... Now I want to make them all!

Oh goodie, I just found out that she has just released a new ebook on beverages as well.

Ingrid! These look like a wonderful way to get more raw in my family! However, I do have a question for you. All I have is a cheapo roundo dehydrator and just a cheapo $20 blender. I do not have a food processor. Can I make these cookies with the equipment that I have?

Hi Luckitri!

Great question! Yes, most of these cookies can be made without a food processor. A coffee grinder is a perfect substitute for doing the job of grinding nuts to flour, which is the base for most of these recipes. Any shredding or chopping can be done by hand, and to combine ingredients, you could simply hand mix it all together in a mixing bowl. Another thought – you could try using a hand held mixer. I haven’t use one to make any of these recipes so I can’t vouch for the end result, but I can imagine it could work well.

One recipe that stands out in my mind as needing a food processor is the Amaretti Con Pignoli Macaroons. The main ingredient is the almond paste, which I made using a food processor. You could use a mortar and pestle to make the paste, though the process could be a bit time consuming.

The only use for a blender would be the Cacao Sauce for the Banana Kissed Peanut Butter Cookies. I used a high-speed blender, a Vita-Mix, but any blender will work just fine.

And for the dehydrators, I used both an inexpensive round dehydrator and an Excalibur, and both do the job.
