What is your favorite ....

I'm always on the lookout for some good recipes (aren't we all), so I thought it would be fun to see what you all think! I'd love to get your top 1 or 2 (or short few) favorites in these areas:


Salad:

Soup:

Snack:

Entree:

Dessert:

Drink / smoothie:

Breakfast:

Lunch:

Dinner:


And also:

Bread/Crackers:

Spreads/Dips:


Oh, and links to recipes &/or recipes themselves would help! Thanks so much!

To get us started, here's mine:



Salad: Gabriel Cousen's Arugula Cumin Salad
2 cups baby arugula
1 cup baby spinach
1/2 cup tomato, diced
2 Tbsp fresh chives, minced (optional, but I always use them)
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp sunflower oil
1 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp Celtic salt

I also often add about 1/4 tsp kelp flakes.

Combine and mix well.


Soup: Coconut Curry Soup

Breakfast: Brazil Nut-Banana Pancakes

Smoothie: Peach Paypaya Smoothie (1 cup OJ, 1 peach, 1/4 papaya with seeds removed, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg)

My favorites

Salad: Apple & Turnip Salad and Beet/Pear/Jicama Salad

Soup: Coconut Cilantro

Snack: Barhi dates with walnuts

Entree: Tacos!

Dessert: Blueberry or Mango Cheesecake

Drink / smoothie: Green Smoothies

Breakfast: Green Smoothies!

Lunch: Kale Salad

Dinner: Tacos, Pizza, or Spaghetti

Oh cool, I was gonna post something along those lines but you beat me to it.

Don't know if I'll be able to fill the whole thing now, but let's see...


Salad/Dressing: Sauerkraut Salad, ranch dressing/dip, my house dressing (from SRK ebook), Dill-icious Dressing, Tomato Dressing

Soup: Oh boy, this will be tough! Cream of Zucchini Soup, The Pilgrim's Soup, Green Celery Soup (from SRK ebook), Tomato & Herb Soup (from SRK ebook), Popeye Gone Raw Cream of Spinach Soup

Snack: Savoury Nori Snacks, Heathy's granola bars (in upcoming Just Desserts ebook)

Entree: Spinach & Cream Pasta Casserole, Pasta Primavera, pizza, my lasagna (from SRK ebook), Jalapeno Burgers, Crab Cakes, Fajitas!

Dessert: Ouch! Again, it's really hard to narrow it down to my absolute faves. Heathy's Chocolate Orange Cake (in upcoming Just Desserts ebook), my Strawberry Shortcake, Avo-based chocolate mousse, Blueberry Cardamom Ice Cream, Hazelnut Chocolate Pie (from RFC ebook), my Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (from RFC ebook), raw chocolate, Cafe Gratitude's Key Lime Pie (ok, ok, I better stop here...)

Drink / smoothie: Super Choconana Shake, GINGER'S Best Coffee Ever, green smoothie, Heathy's Vanilla Nut Smoothie (from RFC ebook)

Breakfast: Fresh carrot, apple, beet, celery, ginger, lemon juice

Lunch: smoothie

Dinner: See entrees, pasta or crackers & spreads

OK, I'm adding a category or 2 here:

Bread/Crackers: The Famous Onion Bread, black sesame sunflower bread

Spreads: Sunflower Garlic Spread, Oh my this is a Tuna! , Garlic & Dill Cheeze, Herb Cheeze

Cool! Thanks Carmella! I updated my first post to include those new categories you suggested.

I also updated my second post to add orange juice to the smoothie recipe - I forgot it!


I'm looking forward to trying The Pilgrim's Soup - our local farmer's market has Jerusalem artichokes and I wanted to find a recipe to use them, so that's perfect!

I'm also excited about that chinese herb in the chocolate and coffee recipes ... it's supposed to help with low back pain, which I have. It's on the shopping list now!

Salad: Lettuce - avocado - dulse - tomato - olives - mushrooms salad with pieces of Ani's sesame bread (but made into crackers)
Favorite dressing: Jennifer Cornbleet's lemon dressing.

Soup: Cream of cucumber soup (Jennifer Cornbleet's)

Snack: Bananas or berry green smoothie

Entree: Soup (gazpacho and avocado) and salad.

Dessert: Carmella's strawberry shortcake.

Drink / smoothie: My berry spinach green smoothie or Carmella's choconana shake.

Breakfast: A green smoothie (again! I'm a fan) and orange juice, or nut mylk with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, or Carmella's choconana shake.

Lunch: A big salad with large mushrooms stuffed with walnut pate (Jennifer Cornbleet's), or a big salad with Brendan Brazier's walnut-hemp burgers.

Dinner: Same.

And also:

Bread/Crackers: Ani Phyo's sesame bread.

Spreads/Dips: Cheddar cheeze dip!

Soup: Carmi's Cream of Tomato Soup

Snack: Mac Macs

Dessert: Strawberry Lime Mousse Cake, Blueberry Cardamom Ice Cream, Carmi's Chocolate Raspberry Rhapsody Cake, choccie pudding

Drink / smoothie: green smoothie, Gingers iced coffee

Breakfast: green juice

Lunch: ocean's tuna salad

Dinner: Any good pizza, lasagna, or big salad

Bread/Crackers: Just Like Ritz

Spreads/Dips: Cheddar Cheese Dip
Zucchini Hummus
