My Holiday

first there was; 't'was a night before christmas...................... and then we had today: Kylie got 6 gifts scattered all over her house. So she thinks it was 'santa' because he came to her school and she saw him......and now '''again'''' believes..... as weeks ago she argued with me that there is no santa...... then she got 3 presents here. and and I was 'naughty' all year and I got some also. and and then I got a camera !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoooooooooooooooo!

it was ''da'' dinner! I love any holiday excuse to decorate and make things we don't eat daily................ some pictures........

and now it's all over!!!!!!!!!!!! oh no, wait, Joz ??? don't you remember there's Channukkah Service/Dinner on 29th and New Years on the 31st. oh yah !!!!!!!!!!! but............. Chistmas is all over>!<done!

Snow's Blondie Fruit Cake
''da''' Yule Log
Apple Pie with Vanilla Vice Cream
left; broccoli salad, beet salad, cauliflower salad and Ani's Spinach Salad made into a 'wreath'
oh; Yam Casserole also and mashed potatoes and ?? one questionable item that everyone ate!

Thank You: You can come over and we'll do RAW!

It seems that once I made the plan and then had everything ready;;;;; 'it' did not take that long. Like the broccoli salad, slicing the broccoli and then 4 min of blend the dressing and it's done!

the couliflower; dicing the couliflowr and cilantro and green onions and 4 min of squeeze lemon add oil and sald and it's done.

the desserts took a little longer but you don't have to have many;

Joz

You're killin me

That is one gorgeous feast.
I'm nearing the end of my juice feast.
Just thinking how nice it would be to just have a little sample of everything in the photo.

I'm going over to my Aunties this evening. Of course, there will be a big spread of SAD food. My plan: arrive late, leave early and bring juice.

Thanks;

It was 'beautiful' - lots of 'green' red and white and green candle with evergreens around it. Everyone at the table said so.........gorgeous ........ and delicious............. THAT'S WHAT COUNTS !

Oh, what a feast you had dear Dodo! Lucky Waneski and little Kylie!

Xmas was extremely low key in our house; none of us really celebrate it... The worst part is that I had no energy to even use the excuse to uncook something festive and fun. Ah well... At least I got to enjoy a visual raw feast, thanks to you!

I'm still hoping to make Snow's fruitcake in the coming days. We're supposed to have a guest sometime before New Year; a guy who works in the produce department of the local grocery store who's interested in raw. Other than that, nothing special planned for the rest of the Holidays.

LOL; I don't don't celebrate the 'christmas' but a lovely time to get together and have my son and Kylie and few friends. So we made this 'more festive' than just normal dinner. ah, yes, made a few dishes extra! you know; the 4 DAD eaters could choose from a few.....but they liked all the raw stuff! I did not even bother with un mashed potatoes....to hear that it does not taste like potatoes..... so just made the cooked ones and the whole big serving dish was gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL; my neighbor always brings cookies; so I served them for SAD guests I knew they would eat them for me; and after eating all this food, and raw desserts, the whole dish was almost almost gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carmi: enjoy your 'guest' ??? Ja???? Pwamise???? me bad bad dodo

What's the house address Joz? Maybe I'll one day surprise ya. Maybe on the way to my daughter in TX perhaps? Give me a hint as heading towards TX, driving with hubby and maybe our friend to Arlington, outside Dallas area end of Feb.

It looks great and sure wish you were my neighbor.

We didn't do much here for Christmas while Hanuk. is my main holiday growing up. However, every day is a holiday. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures.

Cauliflower in a food processor rocks. Been using my Cuisinart 11 cup for tons of stuff including salad. Takes a minute or less. I'm into speed.

Thanks again for sharing. Always love your messages.

Carmella, enjoy your company. I'm sure you will have a constant visitor!

OT: (off topic) Menorah talk

Joz,
Menorah...check thrift stores...got any good ones near you? I can be on the scout for you here and not have to wait that long. Glad to be a "gift" too. Interested? You can't imagine what I find here? Thanks for using you as an excuse to hit the thrift stores again. I'll keep saying till the excuse wears out I am shopping for Joz menorah.

No kidding....embarrassed to say too much as my holiday shopping is super inexpensive....okay...a hint..one sunflower "head"/face large...candle...orange outside...then pretty yellow inside the orange...$1.29.....no kidding...I'm already bumping up for 09 so no mad rush here plus good excuse for me to hunt for my Danskin or Nike exercise pants I just loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It seems like it's a regular "pit" stop before or after I go exercise. Always have to be on the lookout or others will.

Interesting tidbit: I thought I had two menorahs here. I sniffed out pictures of menorahs online and saw they have 4 candles on each side and in middle one candle meaning 9 candles total. One of mine has proper number, the other is one short so a candle holder it is now. So menorahs have a total of 9candle slots. Email me privately if you have more menorah talk. Didn't want to detract here.

Shalom.
