Strawberry leaves - edible?

This may sound like a silly question, but are strawberry leaves edible (ie. in a green smoothie?). I think I saw a green smoothie youtube video which said they were ok to eat, but I just wanted to make sure:-)

I never ate them in large quantities, but if some get into the smoothie I don't really care

http://www.kstrom.net/isk/food/k_straw.html
"In gathering berry leaves for teas, be aware that a poisonous compound develops in the leaves of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and others after the leaves begin to wilt, soften and curl. Either make teas right after the green leaves are picked or dry them thoroughly in shade (indoors, don't use the oven!) for about 2 weeks until they are crumbly -- the toxins (poisons) will all be gone then. Crumble them in your hands and store in airtight jars in a dark place. Use a teaspoonful of dried leaves per cup of boiling water poured over."

Whenever I put fresh strawberries in a green smoothie I do them whole, including the green tops, not sure if that helps but I think the above article is pretty clear. I have had fresh raspberry leaf tea many many times and found it quite helpful for menstral issues, it was good to read that the leaves must be fresh and in good condition, I didn't know that before.

Oh there have been so many times that I was in a hurry before work and I just throw those whole strawberries in my Vitamix and blend away. And I'm alive to tell the story!
