Turns out, the cashews on nuts online that aren't really raw aren't that much more than the really raw ones from RFW. I'm making an order soon.

Tip: their almonds, with the newsletter link, are really cheap... well, for raw almonds anyway. Something like $9 a pound, instead of about $14.

Thank you carolg for posting this recipe!

I made it and it is delicious! It's one of the few "desert-deserts" recipes I've made and we both just loved it.

I kept it in the freezer the whole time until it was gone.

I tried it as the recipe stated and it wasn't very firm. It was great in the freezer. I'll definitely make this again. *Ü*

Oh my oh my oh my oh my!

I did not get to make this yet and still do not know what liquid coconut oil is. Mine is not liquid this summer so am thinking it is something other than what is in my cupboard? Have not seen this in store.

Hi luckitri ~ I interpreted that to be coconut oil, melted. That's what I did...

Next time - I'm going to cut back on the amount of crust, I found it a bit too much. *Ü*

Thanks to everyone who helped Carolg copy and paste the publisher's credit onto the initial post under the copyrighted recipe. I asked permission from Ani's publisher to have her copyrighted recipe be posted word for word onto this website. She was very nice and said that as long as the appropriate credit line was at the bottom of the recipe and that someone did ask permission (myself), all was good.

A couple years ago I posted a copyrighted recipe from a book onto another raw website and got my hand slapped. I had the best intentions but just didn't know there were certain copyright laws to protect authors of recipe books.

Nothing to worry about folks. It's quite simple. Here is the long and short of it: A list of ingredients is NOT copyrighted. But the author's written directions/instructions/notes/story about the recipe ARE copyrighted.

So if you want to post a copyrighted recipe AND the corresponding instructions word for word, just get permission. It only took me a minute to type Ani's publisher a quick email.

And if anyone else wants to post more of Ani's recipes from her new book, just send Lindsey Triebel and email. She responds promptly and seems nice.
Lindsey.Triebel@perseusbooks.com

Are we all good now?

ps - if it was my book, I honestly wouldn't be worried if people were posting my recipes online. Of course I would hope people might buy the book too as I'd probably need the support . I personally like sharing the little I have to offer. The few recipes I've come up with myself are posted for everyone to try.

pss - i really love this website and just don't want anyone to get into trouble like I did a couple years ago. I hate following rules or worrying about stuff like this but now I'm a bit more cautious.

Maybe I'll ask Matthew Kenney's publisher to share the chocolate cherry smoothie recipe with us! It's so good! This week-end I'm getting cashews to try this cake!

Great website for sick and well with free recipes and newsletter

Free newletter. Subscribe or just read at site. Recipes. All free. They want others to share so "you don't have to be sick." See archives too. Wow. 85% raw is their focus for most won't go 100% but you can.

www.hacres.com

Health minister with them for tons of yrs. Truly fabulous.

Ordering something pls. contact me before. Thanks.

Never read or heard to ask permission first. They want to give to max. Still I doubt ever that'll change. Change can only come from education and ACTion if my belief.

Also share the link with those sick. GR8 info. to the max for those who are willing to be educated and change.

Joz, agree w/ya.

Joyce thanks for your position.

Editing at our great site:
It's time sensitive so if times passes by need authority and thanks to Mosaica being authority here she made changes. I know cut/paste, but time was against me to allow access.

It's now done and thanks.

Thanks to Carmella for always being there for us. Don walking along side her has to make combo work well and then the great Mosaica, Joz and others I don't know. Continue sharing. It rawks. Not sure if all authors reply to recipe requests, but worth the true to "keep it legal and real." I'm waiting on Kevin, renegadehealthshow to reply to a question now weeks. I know he's super busy. Can't hear archive link after the program for the 48 hrs.-won't work, so that was my question and still waiting for ans.

Honestly, if I had had a slap on the hand like Joyce, I would be really freaked out to post anything on line!

I contacted Matthew Kenney's publisher, and they were happy to let me post the smoothie recipe on my blog (will let you know when). I think it's only fair we ask them their permission when they spent so much time and money developing the recipes and books.

I am having extreme difficulty with this issue. I understand copyright and getting paid for your work - it is like the music industry in a way. But I also understand my limited budget and that if forums like this one get squelched - well already the cost of the equipment makes raw food very elitist. I think that everyone should be able to have the opportunity to get healthy with raw foods - this issue is tearing me up and I have not come to resolution about it - need help. It has taken me almost 4 years to be able to get the equipment and now we are broke broke broke - I just cannot afford recipe books to go with the equipment - as it is I cannot afford to try many of the recipes due to the cost of the ingredients - talk about frustrated! I am not good enough yet to substitute ingredients successfully as I am unfamiliar with their properties like with my recent psyllium fiasco which I do not know what I am going to do with the product of that mess but with the cost of the ingredients you can be sure it is not going in the trash!

For a long time I scorned raw as for rich people only but now I am really trying and this issue comes up.

The thing is that they share the recipes as soon as you ask for them! Apparently they are really happy to let others share recipes online, it's advertisement for them. They just want people to ask.

Do you have a library nearby? I get lots and lots of books through interlibrary loan. They even bought stuff like Everyday Raw by Matthew Kenney, The raw food detox diet by Natalia Rose, etc. They ordered the Sweet Gratitude book but apparently it's still not here...

Good idea. I have the e-books I won - gotta get page protectors. Plus I am a bit overwhelmed right now - trying to just use what is on sale. It seems that I spend all day on raw foods and other things are being neglected. I need to learn how to do this in a less time-consuming way. I tried zucchini roll-ups today with a spicy green pate instead of "Pate du Soleil" - I thought they were great but I am alone in that.

It takes quite a bit of trial and error at first, but it'll become natural.

Have you tried the tuna pate? My husband, and Joyce's hubby too, think it's great and just like tuna.
