Anyone in NYC that visits Pure Food and Wine...?
I'm not really sure where to put this - this seems as good a place as any. I had posted this on another site, but it was removed... and I really need some help.
As some of you know, I publish a raw food magazine called Purely Delicious. It's a new publication that relies rather heavily on free distribution at various shops, restaurants, etc around the country. Many of you are probably subscribers for home delivered issues as well.
About two weeks ago I sent a large batch of magazines to Pure Food and Wine in New York with the understanding that they would place them in their "take out" shop for people to pick up while they were there. Well, yesterday I received a very polite phone call from the manager letting me know that that was against their policy (a tiny detail the waitress I spoke with while we where there forgot to share with me). He said he really didn't want to thow them away, but that I would have to pay to have them returned to me. The magazine operates on a $0 budget, and I must spend every penny very carefully.
So, in an effort to see those magazines NOT go to waste, or to incur additional financial loss, I was wondering if there might be someone in that area that could pick them up and take them elsewhere. David at Bonobo's is one of my distributors, as is Life Food Store. Or there may be a yoga studio or another place where you think they would be of value. Both Life Food Store and Bonobo's has already had a bunch mailed to them and are more than likely out by now. I'm sure either one would be happy to take more.
If anyone has the time or inclination to help with this, please let me know as soon as you can. I need to contact Pure Food and Wine and let them know what to do with them. For now, they are just holding on to them.
Many thanks,
Anna
